Associate professor of Chinese and English. His research interests are Chinese grammatology, paleography and the teaching of Chinese characters in CFL. He taught courses to undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of Chinese grammatology, ancient Chinese, Chinese characters and culture, and the teaching of Chinese characters in CFL. He published Studies on the decipherment of Oracle bone inscriptions, Concordance of Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Modern Chinese and English (co-ed.) and The World of Chinese characters (co-author).
He is also the managing editor of Journal of Chinese Writing Systems, published by Sage Publications.
