Li is an associate professor with a Ph.D. He is engaged in the evolution of Chinese literature in ancient and modern times, and offers courses such as General Theory of Chinese Literature in Ancient and Modern Times, Eileen Chang's Novels and Chinese and Western Literature, Chinese Culture, etc.
