This book, based on the self-constructed East China Normal University International Student Chinese Interlanguage Corpus, provides a descriptive and quantitative analysis of errors made by international students during their Chinese learning process. It primarily examines errors at the levels of Chinese characters, vocabulary, grammar, and discourse. The book is divided into two parts. Part I covers errors in Chinese characters, vocabulary, grammar, and discourse. Grammar errors are further categorized into: (1) part-of-speech errors (using aspectual particle errors and structural particle errors as examples); (2) syntactic constituent errors (using complement errors as examples); (3) sentence pattern errors; and (4) word order errors. Part II focuses on country-specific errors, which are divided into: (1) errors by Japanese students; (2) errors by Korean students; (3) errors by European and American students; and (4) errors by students from countries along the "Belt and Road" (using errors by Central Asian, South Asian, and Southeast Asian students as examples).
