Wen is an associate professor with a Ph.D. in literature. She teaches Thematic Studies on Chinese Novels and Publishing Culture, Introduction to Shanghai Culture, Chinese Urban Culture, Chinese Poetry Appreciation and Recitation, Idiom Culture and Idiom Usage, etc. She is mainly engaged in research on modern bookstores, modern novels and their publication, literature and education, and culture and education. She has published more than 30 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, including Journal of East China Normal University (Philosophy and Society Edition), Theoretical Studies In Literature and Art, Research on Novels of Ming & Qing Dynasties, Essays on Chinese Novels (South Korea), and Essays on Contemporary Chinese Literature Studies (South Korea). She has also published monographs such as the Ties and Fluxes: Shen Newspaper Office and Modern Chinese Novels, and the Convergence and Symbiosis in the Changing Literary Field: A Study of Saoye Shanfang Writing and Magazine Publishing. She is in charge of the Research on the Development and Evolution of Modern Commercial Press and Chinese Novels and Research on Modern Book Advertising, two projects of National Social Science Fund, and the Research on the relationship between Bookstores and the Development of Modern Novels, a project of Humanities and Social Science of the Ministry of Education. She was awarded the second prize of the 10th Shanghai Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Science for the Ties and Fluxes: Shen Newspaper Office and Modern Chinese Novels, and the Outstanding Paper Award of the 5th Annual Academic Conference of Shanghai Social Science Community for On the fallow times between Shen Newspaper Office and Modern Chinese Novels. Moreover, she is the winner of the first prize of the 7th ECNU Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers and the third prize of the 2nd ECNU Outstanding Research Paper on Teaching Reform.
